Mountain Eagle IV Encampment
Staff Application Procedures
Applications for the Idaho Wing Mountain Eagle IV Encampment are now being accepted for Cadet and Senior Staff positions. Applications are open from now until Dec. 30, 2009. Please follow the application procedures detailed below:
Cadet Staff
- Complete a CAP Form 31 (CAPF 31),
- Provide a color 5×7 full frontal view photo with the cadet wearing blues with tie (males), tie tab, females. The blues hat will not be worn for the photo. Pictures taken by a professional photographer are highly recommended, but not required.
- After filling out the application electronically, the cadet will print the application form and have his/her parent(s) sign the form.
- The cadet will need to bring the signed application to their squadron commander for his/her signature.
- The application is then photocopied and the photo digitally scanned – squadron commanders are recommended to keep a copy for their files.
- Completed forms, photos, essays and resumes must be emailed to the encampment commander for review. Forms and any additional required materials (photos, resumes, and essays) need to be submitted electronically via email. Please carbon copy (cc) your squadron commander on the email submission in case the email gets lost in cyberspace!
- Cadet Staff – if you have a staff position(s) in-mind you would like to staff, list the position(s) in the remarks block of the CAPF 31 (please enter your top three choices). Cadet Staff positions are:
Enlisted Positions (can be staffed by lower ranking cadets who’ve completed encampment)
- Comm NCO – 2 positions
- Logistics NCO – 3 positions
- SET NCO – 3 positions
- PAO NCO – 2 positions
- Safety NCO – 1 position
- Mess Ops NCO – 3 positions
- Admin – 1
- Personnel
- Finance
- Medical 1
- Open General (Willing to work in any area of responsibility)
In addition to above the following positions are available:
- Comm (NC)OIC
- Medical (NC)OIC
- Mess (NC)OIC
- PAO (NC)OIC
- Safety (NC)OIC
- Training Ops (NC)OIC
- First Sergeants (Based on the number of squadrons) (reserved for MSgt through CMSgt)
- Flight Sergeants NCO – 3 to 4 positions depending on number of flights
Cadet Flight or Command Staff positions will require an additional submission of a resume, including a short biography (word document) including any notable CAP duties performed, personal achievements in his/her CAP career, short or long-term goals, in addition to their CAPF 31. If a cadet has never been introduced to a resume, they can seek out the guidance of their fellow cadets, or senior members for such advice. Command Staff positions are as follows: NCOIC or OIC identified by (NC)OIC.

- Cadet Logistics Group Officer
- Cadet Training Group Officer
- Cadet Support Group Officer
- Cadet Academic Officer
- Cadet Flight Training Officer
- SET (NC)OIC
All Cadet Staff will be required to read the CAPP 151 Respect on Display and the CAPR 56-16 chapter 5 CAP Regulations for Encampments and write a short 1 page essay regarding the position they wish to apply for and what they envision their responsibilities to be; and how they would implement those responsibilities. Essays must be legible and easily read. Word document is highly recommended!
Ultimately, it is the applicant’s responsibility to ensure that the encampment selection board receives all documentation required for encampment.
The encampment selection team will evaluate your application and interview to determine the best fit for your skills and the needs of the encampment. We will try to give your first choice priority, but reserve the right to place you where your skills are needed most. Please note that should the need arise during encampment, you may be reassigned duties or given added responsibilities.
All Cadet & Senior applicants will be interviewed by the encampment selection team either in person or via video conference utilizing Skype if a face-to-face interview is logistically impossible. Squadron commanders, please ensure all cadets who have submitted an application are present for his/her interview. When possible, interviews will be conducted at the Cadets/Seniors squadron.
